Hi babes! It’s been a while since I posted a weekend re-cap and considering I actually did things this weekend, I thought this would be the perfect time to bring it back.
Friday October 20, 2017:
So Friday (10/20) was my actual birthday and every year, I like to take the day off of work and spend my actual birthday with just my husband and family. We woke up early, took Ronny out, then my mother-in-law and sister-in-law took us to Denny’s for some chocolate chip pancakes…YUM! Now you guys know I love dogs (like A LOT), so after breakfast Erick and I headed to Animal Humane Society in St. Paul. We were able to play, walk, and just volunteer our time helping some lonely pups, which really made my heart so incredibly happy. Next, we went to Mall of America for some shopping and not just for me. Erick needed to pick up some work clothes, we went looking for Halloween costumes and of course, I did have to stop at Sephora to pick up a thing or two.
After that, it was time to meet my sister and her kids for my birthday dinner. It seems like every birthday, whether Erick’s or mine, we always go to Chianti Grill. I know we should switch it up but you guys…their Spicy Chicken Penne is SO good and we crave it all the time. BTW, this isn’t like a promo or shoutout for Chianti Grill, I just really like them. Although, I would never be opposed to them sponsoring me #spicychickenpenneforlife LOL
Lastly, for Friday we went to Lund’s and Byerly’s to get not one, but two cupcakes! My parents were in New York so there was no point in getting a huge cake for ourselves. Instead I picked out a double chocolate cupcake and a red velvet cupcake to devour later.
Saturday October 21, 2017:
It was Saturday and the birthday festivities were not done! I told you on my actual bday I like to hang with family but the day before or after I always hang out with my friends. I spent most of the morning working on homework (yuck) that was due Monday and then started getting ready for the day. I forgot to take a full body picture but I totally should have because the velvet dress I wore was only $16! Can we say steal?! Anyway, for dinner we headed to CRAVE in downtown Minneapolis.
I just have to say I love these sparkling birthday candles! I may be 26 now but every time I get one of these, I feel like a Princess and get all giddy haha. A good dinner and a couple of glasses of wine later and it was out to the clubs. Stayed out till about 3 a.m. then finished the night with Tacos.
Sunday October 22, 2017:
Sunday actually was not too bad. I wasn’t like hungover or anything but just really tired (def the old age kicking in). The harsh reality that the weekend over, also kicked in. I had to meet my appellate writing professor at school around midday then as my little angel face napped, I finished up the rest of my homework.
Erick got home from work shortly thereafter and we finally went to pick up my birthday present. I ended up getting the military jacket from my Birthday Wishlist post and we got it on sale! Double win! We finished off the day and an incredible weekend watching Arrow and eating Chinese food.
A huge shoutout to anyone of you who took time to wish me a Happy Birthday. I really appreciate the thought!
What did you do this weekend? Any other October babies?
